beaver

We have a small lake at the back of our property.  It's fairly shallow but full of Bass and its existence is decided by a large rodent called a Beaver.  At least its level is determined by the Beaver's activity, or lack thereof.  The Beaver have built a dam at the outlet of the lake and I expect it is responsible for at least three feet of the lake depth.  Our concern is that that three feet might be the difference between fish and no fish.  Fish are a big part of our self-sufficiency in food strategy so, if we lose them we have a problem.
