Broken
Things are getting broken around here these day. The first was related to our caved in roof. The hunt camp is constructed in two distinct parts, one built quite a long time ago, maybe 30 years or so, and the other built about 10 years ago. I may be way off on the first part but that's my guess. Anyway, the second part was built up against the first and it is the roof on that part that caved in last winter. We have sealed off the first part to live in so normally the fact that the roof has caved in doesn't affect us...until yesterday.
Roof Buster
One of our self-sufficiency projects, perhaps the most pressing of them all, is to rebuild the roof. This is due to the fact that it fell in last winter under extreme snow load. The roof was not built properly in the first place so it didn't surprise us that it caved in. Actually, roofs caving in is not too unusual in this area. What happens is we get a real downfall and then the weather turns mild. It generally happens at this time of the year as winter is ending and you get the odd mild spell.
