Snow Load

I finally had to break down and climb up on the roof to shovel it off.  We have had lots of snow and it managed to add enough weight to drop the roof a few inches and push a beam through a wall that separates our living quarters from the part of the building with the caved in roof.  I took this as a sign from the old roof that, if I wasn't going to do something about the snow, it would not be held responsible for any eventual outcome.

comes through the wall

So, as you can see in the video, here I am shovelling the stuff off.  Early Spring is the most dangerous time as it is then that the melting snow gets really heavy and the job of shovelling it off increases exponentially.

The picture here shows where the beam pushed through the wall.  Diane hung a small carpet over it to hide it. That is her with the broom holding the carpet up for the picture.  As you can see, the beam didn't come all the way through, just enough to break the drywall and just enough to convince me to climb up on the roof and start shovelling.
